Smithfield- William Raefell Hill, age 77 passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield. Born in Durham County on November 2, 1945, he was a son to the late William Hill and Myrtle Bass Hill.

Bill was a loving husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed working as a gas tanker driver and watching Nascar. He was an avid NC State fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m., just prior to the service.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patsy Hill of Smithfield; daughters, Kris Hill and fiancé Mark of Meadow; Carrie Jo ­­­­Williams and husband Shawn of Princeton; Kimberly Bethea and Shawn of Pine Level; grandchildren, Parrish McLamb; Hunter McLamb; Remmi McLamb; Janaiya Pearce; T.J. Pearce; Knekolas Bethea, Talia Bethea; and Khristian Bethea.
