Selma – Timothy Sherrill Thompson, age 52, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022, surrounded by his family in his home. Born March 6, 1969 in Johnston County he was the son of Jean Thompson of Smithfield and the late Sherrill Thompson. Tim was a member of Princeton Church of God and a previous member of Stevens Chapel Baptist Church. Tim was a wonderful, loving and God-fearing man. He loved his Lord and Savior and he lived his life accordingly. He loved his family, taking care of them and spending time with them. Tim enjoyed camping, going to the beach, woodworking and enjoyed bluegrass music. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. Most importantly he was a loving husband, son, brother, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in the A.W. Peedin Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife, Kathleen Thompson; children, Preston S. Thompson, Michael D. Giggey; sister, Leighanna Thompson of Selma; granddaughter, MacKenzie Giggey niece, Jessica Kuesel (Nolan) of Raleigh; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
