Annie Ruth Pearce Hill, age 87 passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on August 26, 1935, she was a daughter to the late Luther Pearce and Flora Mae Little Pearce.

There will be no formal services.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Thomas Hughes.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Clarence Hill of Clayton; sons, Tommy and Mark Hughes of Clayton; daughters, Debra Nutt of Raleigh and Teresa Hughes of Clayton; sister, Sallie Mae Boob of Smithfield; and grandchildren, Kyle Stanley, Carrie Nutt, Chris Hughes, Hunter Hughes, and Chadley Hughes; great grandchildren, Harper Hughes, Royce Claire Hughes, Barrett Hughes, Jake Hughes, and Colt Hughes.
