Robert Earl Jordan, age 71, died early Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022 in Warrenton, NC.  Born December 19, 1951 in Johnston County, he was a son of the late William Horton "Buddy" and Evelyn Louise Carraway Jordan.  He was a graduate of Smithfield-Selma High School and received a degree in Water Treatment.  Robert was the second shift operator at the Town of Smithfield's water treatment plant for over 30 years having never missed a day of work.  When not working, he enjoyed going to the beach and watching Westerns and Wrestling.  He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Smithfield.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022 in the Oakland Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Cleveland Road.

Surviving are his brother, William H. "Bill" Jordan, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Smithfield; sister, Helen Pulley of Pine Level and nieces and nephews, Will Jordan and wife Chloe of Elizabeth City, Lee Pruette and husband Blair of Cary, Cara Saiyasak and husband Kevin of Currituck, Sherrie Hudson and husband Danny of Pine Level and Jeffrey Thompson and wife Gina of Princeton.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 218 S. Second Street, Smithfield, NC  27577 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
