SMITHFIELD – Phyllis Parrish Norris, age 69, died Friday morning, September 6, 2019.  Born March 10, 1950 in Johnston County to the late Sam and Mary Emma Lewis Parrish, she was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Parrish.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry Wayne Norris; son, Christopher Shawn Norris of Smithfield; daughter, Theresa Ann Thornton of Asheboro; step-sons, Michael Lee Parker of Charlotte and Jerry Wayne Norris, Jr. of Four Oaks; step-daughter, Tanya Lynn Norris of Smithfield; brothers, Roy Parrish of Harrisburg and Joseph Parrish of Smithfield; sisters, Ila Parrish Lamm and Mary Parrish Fields both of Smithfield and Gayle McMillon Barefoot of Four Oaks and 4 grandchildren, John Manley, Joshua Manley, Elijah Manley and Zoe Thornton.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday, September 16, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Lamm officiating.
