Mildred "Linda' Johnson Sullivan, age 78, died January 1, 2023 at her home near Selma.  Born in Goldsboro, Linda was raised in Brogden, NC with her older brother Bobby by their mother, Ozelle Rose. She graduated from Princeton High School where she was head cheerleader and attended East Carolina University for a year, but missed her family too much and came home.   She met her husband, Donald Sullivan, while working as a telephone operator in Smithfield, NC.  They were married on November 12, 1965 and were married for 43 years until his death in 2009.

Family was always important to Linda.  Her mother Ozelle set a sterling example that deeply impacted Linda by being her parents' caregiver until their deaths.  Linda always prayed that God would allow her to do the same for her mother if needed, a prayer that God answered.  She was devoted to God and loved studying the Bible. She was a faithful member of the Philadelphia Church of God and delighted in serving God's work right up until her death.  Always faithful until the end.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.

She is survived by her three daughters, Susan L. Wack and her husband Bill of Selma, Lori A. Edwards and her husband Gary and Donna M. Floyd and her husband Steve all of Smithfield; nine grandchildren, Jessica Etheridge, Amanda Edwards, Jordan Wack, Matthew Edwards, Mallory Wack, Meagan Chafatinos, Nicolas Khouri, Alex Khouri and Brandon Floyd and three great-grandchildren, Madison Etheridge, Leah Etheridge and Harper Etheridge.
