Smithfield- Margaret Lee Jean Allen, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in UNC Johnston Health of Smithfield. She was born on December 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Troy V. and Lecy W. Allen, in Johnston County. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Weaver, Mozelle Mason, and several step brothers and sisters. Jean was a member of the Smithfield Church of God for most of her life, she loved her church family and all the church activities she was involved in. She loved people and she never knew a stranger. She loved and cared for her sister Lucy and her husband until their passing. She loved the coast and going to the beach. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, but most importantly she loved her family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Smithfield Church of God. The family will receive friends and visitors from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

She is survived by her daughter, Janine Allen Rose (husband Jeffrey) of Willow Springs, grandchildren, Ashley Hayes, Casey Allen, Michael Rose, Tina Herring, Amber Rose, great grandchildren, Jacob Rose, Logan and Connor Johnson.
