Lillian Dale Carraway Parrish, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born in Greene County on August 20, 1931, she was a daughter to the late Albert Lee Carraway and Clara Harris Carraway. Lillian was one of 13 children and grew up working on her family farm. From a very young age, she was taught the value of hard work which she carried with her throughout her life. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Selma. Lillian enjoyed doing word searches, and had a passion for music and dancing. She was a very loving, compassionate, and caring woman, especially towards her family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 between 1-3:00 PM at Angela's home at 1013 Crystal Blvd, Selma.

In addition to her parents, Lillian has been joyfully reunited with her baby girl, Cheryl Darlene Parrish, and 11 of her 12 siblings. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Troy Carraway, Earl Carraway, Raymond Carraway, Roy Lee Carraway, Bobby Ray Carraway; sisters, Lydia Cox, Bertha Parris, Frances Mcleod, Evelyn Jordan, Dorothy Carraway, Joyce Ann Campbell; and grandson, Michael Matthews.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Donna Kaye Ore of Walstonburg; Teresa Carraway Matthews of Clayton; Angela Parrish Davis of Selma; sister, Jean Bradley of Smithfield; grandchildren, Jamey Bowen, Steven Bowen, Kevin Bowen, Daniel Matthews, Jerry Eason, Brittany Eason; great grandchildren, Katy Walker, Leacy Bowen, Aubrey Bowen, Haley Bowen, Tyler Bowen, Carson Eason, Channing Eason, and Brayden Matthews.
