Lee Daniel "L.D." Dixon, age 88, of Selma, passed away on December 8, 2019.  Born in Johnston County on March 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Boyd Jefferson and Mary Colon Raynor Dixon.  His wife was the late Annie Ruth Wall Dixon.  Mr. Dixon served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Whitley Memorial United Methodist Church.  Mr. Dixon was the last living charter member of Smithfield Moose Lodge where he held the Pilgram Degree.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in Selma Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1-2 pm.

Surviving are his sons, L. D. "Buddy" Dixon, Jr. and wife Glenda of Morehead City, Johnny Dixon and wife Kym of Micro; his daughter, Laura Price and husband Ricky of Selma; sister Bobbie Lancaster of Smithfield; grandchildren, Brooks Dixon, Jessica Lamm, Jennifer Biggs, Anna Seasons and Robbie Brantham; great grandchildren Cole Dixon, Tripp Dixon and Kolby Seasons; and his special friend Treasure Amos.
