Laverne Johnson McLamb, age 72 of Selma, NC, passed away Wednesday May 10, 2023 at her home after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on May 3, 1951, to the late Roscoe Johnson and Mary Lewis Johnson. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Davie Jones.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma and at other times at her home.

Laverne retired as the director of the Selma Housing Authority. She enjoyed spending her time with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids and spending time at the beach with her Creek family who all knew her as "Nana". She loved shopping, decorating for holidays, and spending time with her red hat ladies.

Surviving is her son, Corey and wife, Meredith, grandchildren Lyla and Britt of Smithfield; Brothers, Ollie Johnson of Wilson, Roy Johnson (Hilda) of Wilson, Ray Johnson (Gail) of Stancil's Chapel, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
