Kim Roderick "Rod" Edwards, age 66, of Clayton passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2019.  Born in Newport, Rhode Island on April 25, 1953, he was the son of Alice Moore Edwards and the late Erastus Edwin Edwards, Jr..  Rod was a member of Smithfield Advent Christian Church.  He was an established local musician for many years, having played at The Rudy and JCC, as well as many other venues. Rod owned and operated Edwards Floor Finishing for nearly 30 years.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Friday from 1-2 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Beth Gilmore Edwards; sons, Steven Edwards of Four Oaks, Russell Edwards of Smithfield and Brandon Edwards of Clayton; a daughter, Stefanie Edwards of New York; and three grandchildren, Demily, Liam and Winston.

Memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
