Smithfield – Karen LaBrot Borsos, age 79, passed away Tuesday October 25, 2022 at her home in Smithfield. She was born in Stevens Point, WI on May 25, 1943 to the late Bertrum LaBrot and Dorothy Belanger LaBrot. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Robert LaBrot.

As per Mrs. Borsos request, no formal services will be held.

She is survived by husband of 55 years, Robert Borsos of Smithfield; daughter, Robin Borsos of Greensboro.

Mrs. Borsos was a Barton College graduate where she obtained a bachelor's degree and then began instructing Commercial Art at JCC. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting and collecting German nutcrackers, making bead jewelry, and travelling. She was also a long time member of the Johnston County Art Council and original  member of the Ava Gardner Museum board of directors.
