Clayton- Jesus Jr. Jerell Quintero, age 3, passed away on February 25, 2022, at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Born in Johnston County on August 29, 2018, he was the son of Jesus Alexander Quintero and Jaqueline Sierra of Smithfield. Although young, Jesus was many things throughout his life and was so loved by his family. He loved playing with trucks and toys, specifically monster trucks. He was fascinated by construction work and liked to tell everyone that he was a construction worker. Some of his favorite things were chocolate, playing with his toy ball, and watching his favorite TV shows, Blippi, Ryan's World, Paw Patrol, and Octonauts. Jesus loved his sister, Jelsey and was a caring big brother. His favorite time was spent with his uncles, Christopher, Angel, Elijah and Lilliana. He was a happy, smart, loving, caring, and energetic child who loved learning new things. Jesus especially loved spending time with his grandparents, and enjoyed helping his grandfather Simon fix cars.

Funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Clayton. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

Jesus is survived by his mother, Jaqueline Sierra of Smithfield; father, Jesus Alexander Quintero of Four Oaks; sister, Jelsey Alexandra Quintero of Clayton; grandparents, Valerie and Simon Quintero of Four Oaks; grandmother, Maria Pena of Smithfield; grandfather, Fernando Sierra of New Jersey; aunts, Liz Sierra of Smithfield, Soila Cardenas of Smithfield, Kimberly Pena of Smithfield, and Adriana Quintero of Four Oaks; uncles, Marcus Quintero of Dunn, Christopher of Smithfield, Angel of Smithfield, Elijah of Smithfield, Alberto Sierra, Alfonso Sierra, Marcos Sierra, Nancy Sierra, Juan Manuel Sierra, Octavio Sierra, Amanda Sierra, and Pepe Sierra, all of New Jersey.
