James Randall Daughtry, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Daughtry was born on November 3, 1926 to the late Riley Kimble Daughtry, Sr. and Elsie Woodard Daughtry. He was preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Peedin and his siblings Thelma Rains, Irene Mozingo, R. K. Daughtry, Jr., Elsie Mae Sutton and Bethany Daughtry. Mr. Daughtry was a very active member of Hephzibah Baptist Church, currently serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher and formerly as the Choir Director. He was the director of the Community Gospel Singers for 25 years and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Brogden Fire Department. He and his wife operated Daughtry's Upholstery for over 40 years.Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in Hephzibah Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.Surviving are his wife of almost 64 years Marjorie Aycock Daughtry; children, Bobby and Wanda Daughtry of Princeton, Nancy and Danny Peedin of Princeton and Billy and Mary Daughtry of Pine Level; grandchildren, Jamie Daughtry and wife Sandy, Jeremey Daughtry and wife Rachel, Jason Peedin, Tyler Daughtry and Mary Margaret Daughtry; and great grandchildren Travis, Madison and Emma Daughtry, Samantha and Mandy Austin.Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Randall Daughtry Memorial Fund at Hephzibah Baptist Church, c/o Wayne Peedin, 4633 US Hwy 70E, Princeton, NC 27569 or the Brogden Fire Department, c/o Allan Daughtry, PO Box 930, Pine Level, NC 27568.The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the second floor staff of Johnston Health for the excellent care that they provided.
