Smithfield – Helen Virginia Deans Byrd, age, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in Smithfield Manor Nursing & Rehab in Smithfield. She was born on February, 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Lois and Lula Deans in Wayne County. She is preceded in death by all her siblings and nephew, Randy Radford. Helen was a member of Smithfield First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed doing word puzzles and she loved to listen to music and sing. She was a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 7,2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Price Cemetery in Selma.

She is survived by her nieces, Joan Newcomb, Dorothy Holder, Kathy Thornton, Patricia Agrulil, Christy Radford, Sheila Holder, Lisa Pittman, nephews, Jimmy Holder, Jeff Ward, and Jamie Brisco.
