Kenly – Gary Michael Keene, age 65, passed away at his home in Kenly on Friday March 11, 2022. He was born in Sampson County on February 28, 1957 to the late Roy Maxton Keene and Lois Carter Keene. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother in law, RC Henderson.

A memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday March 20, 2022 at 3 PM. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 PM to 3 PM.

He is survived by wife of 27 years, Darlene Capps Keene of the home; daughter, April Massey and husband Todd of Princeton; step daughter, Chasney Foster and husband Travis of Kenly; step son, Chase Gurley and fiancé Brooke Sherman of Smithfield; brother, Wayne Keene and wife Sue of Wallace; sisters, Faye Carter and husband John of Jacksonville, Brenda Henderson of Wilmington.; grandchildren, Hope and Ethan Massey, Carter Foster; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Stacey Sasser, Cailey Adams, Johnny and Gail McLamb.

Mr. Keene had a passion for cooking, animals, riding motorcycles and working on his corvette.
