Smithfield – Florette B. Langley, age 87 passed away Saturday April 9, 2022 at her home in Smithfield. She was born in Muscogee County, GA on May 6, 1934 to the late John Brown and Lenora Whitehead Brown. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by husband, Alva Langley; daughter, Debra Eheart; son, John Langley; sister, Gladys Kamboris.

A graveside service will be conducted in Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix, AL on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 11 AM. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home from 6 PM to 7 PM Monday April 11, 2022.

She is survived by husband, John Christena of Garner; sons, Steve Godwin and wife Kay of Phenix, AL, David Langley and wife Renee of Apex, NC; daughter, Donna Riley and husband Andrew of Smithfield, NC; sister, Barbara Bixler of Phenix, AL; 13 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren with one on the way and 20 great great grandchildren.

Ms. Langley worked as a real estate agent for over 20 years. She was a military wife for 28 years and was stationed in Florida, England, Goose Bay, Canada, North Carolina, California, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Lagos Nigeria. She worked at the embassy in Nigeria as well as a librarian. Her hobbies included reading and painting.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to local food banks to feed children or the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC 1924 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604.
