Smithfield – Edward Jackson, age 93, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the Brian Center in Clayton. Born July 24, 1927 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Wilbert and Pearl Jackson Strickland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay McMillan Jackson; and brother, Durwood Strickland.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. William Holliday officiating.

Surviving are his son, Bill Jackson of Smithfield; daughter, Paula J. Troy and husband Bill of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Larry Strickland of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Barry Jackson, Garrett Troy, and Will Troy (Nicole); and great granddaughter, Carmen Troy.
