Smithfield – Edward Lewis Creech, age 81, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at his home. Born September 3, 1937 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Charlie and Hannah Whitley Creech. Edward was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked for many years with Pepsi and later retired from the Town of Smithfield. Edward was a long time member of Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and usher for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Tee's Chapel FWB Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church just prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Nelda Creech; son, Scott Creech and wife Amber of Four Oaks; grandson, Jackson Lewis Creech; and sisters, Brenda Mitchell and husband Nelson of Smithfield, Cheryl Mozingo of Raleigh, Fran Davis of Smithfield, and Debbie Grider and Wesley of Smithfield.
