Smithfield -Clifford Delaine Davis, age 79, went to be with Jesus on September 28, 2019 at SECU Hospice House.  Per his request, there will be no service.

Clifford was born June 10, 1940 in Smithfield to Fred Davis and Rona Davis Carroll.  He enjoyed gardening, yardwork and spending time with his church friends and family.

Clifford is survived by his two daughters, Robyn Jahns and her husband Ken of Cornelius, NC and Terry Jordan and her husband Keith of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  He is survived by his sister Marie Hicks (Wayne) and his brothers, Bobby Davis (Helen) and Billy Wayne Carroll as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clifford was a friend to many.  He was dearly loved by his family, friends, neighbors, church family that included his pastor, Jason, who considered them best friends as well as his caretaker, Peggy, who treasured him as a close friend.

The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at Johnston Health and at SECU Hospice House.
