Brandon Todd Phillips, 40, of Smithfield, passed unexpectedly on May 16, 2022. He was born to Larry and Shelly Jones Phillips on January 26, 1982 in Wilson County. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bernice Jones, Jr. and paternal grandfather, Linwood E. Phillips. Brandon loved the outdoors, fishing and grilling. He was a jack of all trades and worked in construction, landscaping and carpentry.

Brandon is survived by his parents Larry and Shelly Phillips of Smithfield, brothers; Scott E. Phillips, Blake (Brittany) Phillips, sister, Emily B. Phillips, significant other, Nick Poe, maternal grandmother Lois P. Jones of Selma, son, Dylan M. Phillips of Wilson, nephew Gabe Bebber, aunts and uncles; Danny and Tammy Langston and Jamie and Connie Jones and several cousins.

Brandon will be laid to rest Thursday May 19, 2022 in a private family service on the farm where he grew up. Rev. Chris Casey will officiate the burial service.
