Smithfield – Betty Dodge Baucom, age 81, passed away Tuesday March 23, 2021 at Meadowview assisted living center in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on April 5, 1939 to the late Larry and Eula Brewer Woodard. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by husband's, Bill Baucom and Larry Dodge. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Friday March 26, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow the service at Price Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home from 1 PM to 2 PM on Friday. Mrs. Baucom is survived by sons, Lawrence Dodge and wife Sherry of Chesapeake, VA, Charles Dodge and wife Karen of Selma; daughter, Bobbie Stanley and husband Ronald of Selma; step son, Bill Baucom and wife Alisha of Greenvalley, AZ. sisters, Alice Koger and half-sister Gaye Woolard; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Mrs. Baucom enjoyed spending time at the beach, painting, and loving her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Ronald McDonald House Charities 110 North Carpenter Street Chicago, IL 60607.
