Bessie Louise Mustgrave Wood, age 70, died Sunday afternoon in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Born April 20, 1952 in Johnston County to the late Richard Junior and Dora Pauline Aycock Mustgrave, she was the widow of Ernest Lee Wood and was preceded in death by her brother Wiley Rudolph Mustgrave and her sister, Francs Mustgrave Henderson.  Louise was a member of the Smithfield Church of God.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Waters, the Rev. Dennis Pollock and the Rev. Danny Joyner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. just prior to the funeral service and at other times, at the home of her niece, Vicky Strickland, 323 Moore Road, Kenly.

Surviving are her nephews, Danny Joyner of Rockingham, Ricky Mustgrave and wife Autumn of Kenly and Clifton Lamm of Greensboro; nieces, Deborah Mustgrave, Vicky Strickland and husband Bobby and Diane Evans all of Kenly; great nephew Phillip Barbour and wife Kayla of Zebulon and her "sidekick", Pat Hudson Brunty of Smithfield.
