Mrs. Annie Smith Revels was born on April 13, 1933 to the late Haywood Smith and the late Retha Whitley Smith in Princeton, N.C.  She graduated from Richard B. Harrison High School in the class of 1951. While a student at Harrison she met her future husband, Nathaniel Revels. They were married on June 18, 1951 and located to Queens, New York. From this union two sons were born the late Nathaniel Revels, Jr. and John Hardy Revels and (Lily) of Australia. After retirement they relocated to Selma, N.C. and she joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Smithfield, N.C.

She leaves to cherish her memory six grandchildren, Brandon, Qiana, John, Nathan, Janeaya and Jessica; four sisters, Sarah Foye, Linda Jones, Cynthia Williams and Peggy Panell; three brothers, Cornell (Dorothy), James, and Larry (Lavern); and a host of nieces and nephews. Three brothers preceded her in life, Haywood, Lenwood and Robert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2019 in First Missionary Baptist Church in Smithfield. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Saturday just prior to the service at the church.
