SMITHFIELD - Adrian Gordon Howell, II, age 55, died Tuesday morning, December 3, 2019 at his home.  Born March 7, 1964, in the hospital at UNC Chapel Hill, to the late Adrian Gordon and Gertrude Ellender Hudson Howell, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ellender Howell.  Adrian was a senior product design technician with Honeywell International.  He was a life-long member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield, but had recently been attending the Ignite Church near Pine Level.  Following graduation from SSS High School, he attended UNC Charlotte.  Adrian was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #84 in Smithfield and was currently serving as the Vice President of the National Association for Ham Radio.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Colbert and the Rev. Gary Killebrew officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., just prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife, Amanda Elizabeth Howell; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Bethune and husband Josh and their children, Bryce and Harper Bethune all of Selma; step-mother, Jean Stanley Austin and husband Ed of Smithfield; brother, Ted Sohn and wife Janice and their daughter, Sicely Sohn all of Wilson's Mills; uncle, Leon Howell of Garner and in-laws, Jimmy and Jackie Jones of Smithfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to an education fund for his grandchildren, Bryce and Harper, c/o Jackie Jones, 110 Whitley Drive, Smithfield, NC  27577.
