SMITHFIELD - Ouida Estella Moak Thompson, age 97, died Friday evening in Smithfield Manor. Born March 4, 1912 in Pike County, MS to the late Rufus Levi and Courtney Herrington Moak, she was the widow of Jewell Bickham Thompson, who died in 1983.A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2009, in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS.Surviving are her sons, James Bickham Thompson of Smithfield, NC and Lee Moak Thompson of Lexington, KY, brothers, James E. Moak of Starkville, MS and Robert Louie Moak of Bossier City, LA, sister, Ester Lee Jackson of McComb, MS, five grandchildren and one great grandson.The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the Underwood Funeral Home in Smithfield, NC and from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Catchings Funeral Home in McComb, MS just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the church or charity of your choice.
