Richard Milford Hinnant Richard Hinnant, 84, of Micro NC died peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2009.He was born February 16, 1925 in Micro, NC. He was the son of the late Oscar and Irma P. Hinnant. He is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Hinnant, sisters Helen Jordan and Alice Hardee, brothers, O.D and Samuel Hinnant and infant brothers, Needham Bryant and Harold Vinson Hinnant. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carolyn Hinnant: sons and daughter in laws: Darius and Linda Hinnant of Charlotte, NC, Dwight and Julia Hinnant of Oak Island, NC, Danny and Robin Hinnant of Micro, NC and daughter in law, Cathy Walters of Kenly, NC. Additionally, he is survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was a retired farmer of 60 plus years. He was also an employee of local tobacco warehouses in Johnston and Wilson County. Richard loved sports and coached in many community youth activities. He was a dedicated member of Micro Free Will Baptist Church where he served in many different capacities such as Deacon, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Building and Grounds and etc. He was a charter member of Micro Volunteer Fire Department, served several terms on the Board of Directors of BB &T and was a long time active member of Johnston County Farm Bureau. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Visitation will follow the service. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Hinnant Graveyard on Hinnant Edgerton Road, Selma, NC at 11:00 A.M.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Micro Free Will Baptist Church , PO Box 247 Micro NC 27555.
