Smithfield - Frederick M. "Freddy" Parrish, Jr., age 70, died Monday morning in the SECU Hospice House. Born January 4, 1942 in Johnston County, he was the only child of the late Frederick M. and Anna Lee Parrish. Freddy was a graduate of Wake Forest University and taught in several Johnston County schools. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Smithfield.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Colbert officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.He is survived by a large extended family and many close friends.The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 1:00 - 2:00 just prior to the service.In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.
