Franklin Edward Garner, age 70, of Pine Level passed away at his home on January 29, 2018.  Born in Johnston County on May 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Tommy Edward and Louise Bryant Garner.  His wife was the late Faye Woodard Garner.  Frankie was a retired Police Officer for the Town of Selma and was a retired member of the Pine Level Fire Department.  He was always active in civic affairs in Pine Level, serving as a Town Commissioner and on the Board for the Recreation Department.  He served as Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 63 and was a member of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7, just prior to the service.  Burial with Fire Department honors will be Thursday at 11:00 Am in the Price Cemetery.

Surviving are his sons, Jimmy F. Garner and wife Gina of Pine Level, Thomas Lee Garner of Pine Level; his brother Denny Garner and wife Jean of Snow Hill; grandchildren Trevor Bryant and wife Sarah, Mackenzie Lynn Garner; great grandchild Ellie Garner; and his buddy and caregiver Frederick Sanders.
