Clayton--Emily Cornelia Dean, 90, passed away on July 11, 2018. Born on April 10, 1928 in Johnston County she was the daughter of the late Herbert Calvin and Minnie Adams Upchurch. Emily was preceded in death by her husbands, Harvey Williford, Blake Adams, and Louis Dean. She was also preceded in death by her son, Roy Adams, and her two brothers, Joseph Calvin Upchurch and George Ile Upchurch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home in Smithfield. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Four Oaks.
Surviving are: sister-in-law Shirley Upchurch of Clayton; nieces Daphne Pendley of Willow Springs and Deborah Ivey of Clayton; nephew George Upchurch of Clayton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
