William Rodney Pittman, II, 55, passed away September 23, 2024, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield after losing his battle with colon cancer. Born in Wake County on January 21, 1969, he was a son of Patricia Young Pittman of Micro and the late William Rodney Pittman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Wilhelminia Pittman of Micro and Ralph and Eloise Jones Young of Micro. Rod graduated from North Johnston High School in 1987 and attended East Carolina University. He worked in the leasing industry for many years but for the last several years he was director of operations for Red Zone Resources in Raleigh.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date, no other services are planned at this time.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Young Pittman of Micro; brother, Art Pittman and wife Elizabeth; 2 nieces, Kaylee and Mckynlee; special companion, Kaiser; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rod lived life to the fullest and leaves behind many close friends.
