Selma – William "Billy" Henry McClung, age 71, of Selma, passed away on April 20, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born in Johnston County on August 1, 1952, he was the son of the late Keith and Katie McClung. He attended Princeton High School until October, 1970, when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in October, 1976. He married the love of his life, Judy, on December 2, 1970, and was happily married for 51 years until she lost her battle with leukemia. He started McClung's Electrical and Plumbing Company in 1983, which has grown into a very successful business known by many. He took pride in his work and won many awards due to his hard work and dedication.

A graveside service will he held Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with military honors in the McClung Cemetery located at 1533 Pine Level Selma Rd., Selma, NC. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Surviving are his sons: Keith McClung (Ann) of Selma, Shane McClung (Stacy) of Brogden; daughters, Jo Hood (Bill) of Grantham, Tammy McClung (Robby) of Kenly; sister, Carol Edwards of Brogden; grandchildren: Hannah Murphy (David), Hunter McClung (Michelle), Brandon Fields, Lori McClung, Lexy Cooper (Alex), "Lil" Billy McClung, Wyatt McClung, Katie Gail McClung, Will McClung, and Anna Hood; great-grandchildren: Maci Murphy, Sam Walsh, and Jesse McClung.
