Wiley Harvey Raynor, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2026,

Born on October 7, 1960, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late James Herbert and Lucille Peedin Raynor. In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his brothers; Willie Henry and Charles Emory “Putter”.

Harvey was the owner and operator of Harvey’s Transmissions for the past 40 years. He was a hardworking man, and he was very knowledgeable about anything mechanical. Harvey never met a stranger, and he made friends easily. He was very loyal and loving to his family and friends. He attended First Baptist Church in Smithfield where he loved worshipping and serving. He was also a long-time member of the Pine Level Lions Club. Harvey was known for his kind and giving spirit. His love and generosity were unbounded. He would do whatever he could to help someone in need.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in Sander Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Harvey is survived by his brothers James “Lebo” Raynor (Jean) of Selma and Richard Raynor (Janice) of Wilson’s Mills; his sisters Patricia Narron (Tommy) of Benson, Gail Woodard of Smithfield, Billie Bryant (Ray) of Fuquay Varina, Gaye Renfrow (Hilton) of Garner along with numerous nieces and nephews; his special friend, Faye Poole and his bonus daughter, Ashley Poole Littleton (Jeffrey) and bonus granddaughter, Grace of Clayton.

Harvey will be sorely missed by the many who knew and loved him so much.
