Smithfield – Wayne Ronda Register, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 8, 2022. He was born in Sampson County on June 24, 1940 to the late Alcie Daniel Register and Esther Tew Register. In addition to his mother and father, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Dan Register.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday October 11, 2022 at 11 AM with Dr. Andrew Ham officiating. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will follow the service in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.

Mr. Register is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cheryl Johnson Register of Smithfield; sons, Kenneth Register and wife Laura of Ellicott City, MD, Kevin Register and wife Janell of Troy, OH; sister, Brenda Ham of Mocksville; grandchildren, Ashley Bilger, Ryan Register, Hailey Register, Addison Register, Ragan Register and Emma Grace Register.

Mr. Register was a member of Centenary UMC in Smithfield and loved woodworking, fishing and spending time with all of his grandchildren.
