Wanda Grant Davis, age 72, of Smithfield passed away on August 10, 2025.  Born in Cumberland County on January 26, 1953, she was the daughter of Amos Mason Grant, Jr. and Irene Johnson Barbour. Wanda taught elementary school for over 40 years, but even after retirement, she continued to substitute and tutor. She brought joy to everyone she met and made such a big difference in the lives of the children she taught. She also had a love for the beach and was the biggest Duke basketball fan you would have ever met.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 17th, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will have visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Surviving are her honorary family members, Brandina Johnston, Walter Allen, Tasha Sumrell, Jesse Parisi, and Jake Johnston; and granddaughters Karina Davis (whom she had legal guardianship over), Lily Davis, Malina Davis, and Nadia Davis.
