Walter Lavant Ingram, age 69, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his home. Born on January 20, 1957, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Elton and Mamie Ingram.

Walter loved gardening and fishing and was always known for his sense of humor and love of joking with others. Above all, he loved his children and treasured his family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:15 p.m. at Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home.

Walter is survived by his wife, Sherrie Owen Ingram; son, Joseph Lavant Ingram and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Melinda Sue Greene and husband, James; grandchildren, Tyler Scott Worley and Maddison Melin Worley; great-grandchildren, Elaina Dianne Worley, Stetson Greene, and Laken Nelson; step-grandchildren, Dylan Greene, Austin Greene, and Peyton Pritchard; brother, Elton Ingram, Jr.; and sister, Bonnie Jean Medlin.
