Four Oaks – Wade Nelson Daughtry, age 85, passed away to his heavenly home Wednesday November 29, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on February 4, 1938 to the late Willie Jasper Daughtry and Catheline Sanders Daughtry. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Anderson Daughtry; brothers, James and Jackie Daughtry; sister in law Rose Daughtry.
The family will receive visitors in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday December 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Sunday. Burial will follow the service in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Mr. Daughtry is survived by daughters, Ann Daughtry Parker and husband Alan of Four Oaks and Julie Renee Daughtry Gooding of Latta, SC; grandchildren, Matthew Parker and wife Summer, Stephen Parker and wife Jessica, Jonathan Goodding and wife Erica and Brendon Goodding; great grandchildren, Brayden Parker, Beckett Parker, Lyla Goodding, Lydia Parker and Luke Parker; brother, Otis Daughtry and wife Teresa.; sister in law, Carol Daughtry.
Wade was a long time minister serving in many capacities in various churches. He also worked as a butcher for many years with Edwards IGA and had a butcher shop of his own for a period of time. Many people would recognize his voice from his radio program "The Voice of Truth".
