Teresa  Ann Hayes, age 59, passed away Wednesday evening December 29, 2021 in SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born October 6, 1962 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna Strickland Hayes. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy "Timmy" Hayes; brother, Clifton Hayes; and sisters, Lucille Messer, Debbie Heath and Cathy Hayes.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with Rev. Gene DeWitt and Rev. Jimmy Price officiating.

Surviving are her son, Christopher Hayes and wife Amanda of Four Oaks; daughter, Melisa Hayes and husband Donald of Four Oaks; fiancé, Raymond Allen of Four Oaks; brothers, David Hayes and wife Bonnie of Smithfield, Rayvon Hayes and wife Sharon of Smithfield and Joe Hayes of Virginia; sisters, Sylvia Wall and husband Donnie of Benson and Linda Stephenson of Smithfield; and grandchildren, Erica Hayes, Landon Hayes, Manuel Vitela, Jeanetta Vitela, Madison Hayes and Breyden Hayes.
