Susan Marie Huffman Painter, age 60, passed away early Thursday, October 5, 2023 in WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh. Born September 20, 1963 in Johnston County she was a daughter of Judith "Judy" Perry Huffman of Smithfield and the late Roby Leroy Huffman. She enjoyed spending time at the beach with family and friends.  With Susan, family always came first, especially if you were one of her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2023 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday evening just prior to the service.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Steve Painter; son, Jonathon Rose and wife Heather of Princeton; stepsons, Cameron Painters of Raleigh, Drew Painter of Seven Lakes and Brandon Painter of Goldsboro; stepdaughter, Alexandra Painter of Chittenango, NY; brother, Jeff Huffman and wife Barbie; sisters, Becky Blackman and Debra Lloyd and husband Wayne; and grandchildren, Nathan Rose, Dawsyn Rose, Hailee Painter, Jaxon Painter, Addison Painter, Josephine Painter, Via Painter, Declan Painter and Farren Painter.
