Shirley Yvonne Richard, age 84 of Zebulon, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 surrounded by her family.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Tim Quinn (Barbara), Tony Quinn (Tammy), Sherri Quinn and Hank Richard (Ashley) and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Emily Cooper, her son, Terry Quinn and her siblings, Oscar "Sonny" Roebuck, Nell Roebuck Hankins, Frank "Mickey" Roebuck and Jackie Roebuck, whom she loved very much.

Shirley was born February 20, 1941 in Pineland, TX as the youngest of five children, where she spent her childhood and early adult life.  She often recalled how she followed her older siblings to school when she was only four years old; traveling alone along roads and railroad tracks, the one-room schoolhouse teacher had no choice but to invite her to attend.  She also spent time in her childhood by her mother's side, tending to their flowers and garden, which became a lifelong hobby.  As an adult, she completed training to become a Certified Nurse's Assistant, which she used to care for many patients and families as a dedicated home health provider for over 20 years.  She also had a love of cooking good southern food, which she passed along to her children and grandchildren and will be most remembered for her cornbread dressing.

In 1999, Shirley moved from Texas to North Carolina to be near her children and grandchildren.  Her greatest pride was her family and she loved to tell anyone who would listen just how blessed she was.
