Shirley Godwin Corbett Driver, age 79, of Clayton, passed away on August 25, 2019.  Born in Johnston County on August 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lewis and Doris Davis Godwin.  She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Rev. Jimmy Nelson Corbett and Jimmy Driver.  Mrs. Driver was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Thursday, August 29, from 10-11 am followed by a funeral service at 11.  Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park.

Surviving are her sons, Nelson Leon Corbett and wife Kaye of Wilson's Mills, Raymond Eddie Corbett and wife Lorraine of Four Oaks, James Rudolph Corbett and wife Tracy of Swansboro; her brother, Rev. Eddie Lewis Godwin and wife Rhonda of Smithfield; her sisters Sandra Godwin Hargis and husband Rev. Lloyd of Clayton, Judy Godwin Coats of Clayton; her grandchildren, Zachery Corbett, Alina Casey Corbett, Allie Brianna Corbett, Jesse Ray Corbett, Kai Matthew Corbett, James Wayne Corbett and Jerrilynn Christine Corbett; and one great grandchild, Esther Anne Corbett.
