Smithfield – Shirley Dupree Coor, age 98, passed away Monday July 27, 2020 at Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Johnston County on October 17, 1921 to the late Dewey Banks and Estelle Corbett Dupree. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Eustace Ovid Coor Jr.; Sons, Tony and David Coor; Brothers, DB and Joe Dupree.  A graveside service will take place 10 AM Thursday July 30, 2020 at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield. Mrs. Coor is survived by Sons, Ozzie Coor and wife Pat of Clayton, Larry Coor and wife Clyda of Hertford; Daughters, Carol Kimel and husband Robin of Selma, Robin Wilson and husband Jim of Smithfield; Sister, Lynda Creech of Smithfield; Grandchildren, Banks Coor, Clay Coor, Cam Coor, Andy Coor, Kelly Coor, Erin Dennis, Brent Coor, Rock Wilson; 12 Great grandchildren. Lifelong friend, Mildred Crumpler. Mrs. Coor attended Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield. She was a member of Pomona Creech Extension Club, and enjoyed gardening, fishing traveling and Krispy Crème Doughnuts when the hot light was on, and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Coor will be available to the public for viewing from 1 PM to 5 PM Wednesday July 29, 2020 at Parrish Funeral Home In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church 5835 Black Creek Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577 or to a charity of one's choice.
