Sherrill Tart Freeman, Jr., 75, died peacefully at Barbour Court on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Born on October 13, 1944 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Sherrill Tart Freeman and Ruby Pearl Dowdy Freeman.

The family will receive friends at Underwood Funeral Home in Smithfield on Wednesday, November 6 from 4 PM until 6PM. No formal services are planned at this time.

Surviving are his daughters, Sherrill Wood and husband Mark of Garner and Lisa Barber and husband Darrell of Pine Level; brothers, W. T. Freeman of Smithfield and Charles Freeman and wife Barbara of Smithfield; grandchildren, David Wood and wife Jessica of Benson, Matthew Wood of Pinehurst, Shane House and wife Kameron of Selma, Marissa Barber of Pine Level; great grandchildren, Brinley Wood, Cade Wood, Keaton Wood, and Lila Grace House.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Wayne Freeman, a sister, Rebecca Rose Daughtry, and a granddaughter, Morgan Lynn House.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Continuum Home Health and Hospice, 614 E. Market St., Smithfield, NC 27577.
