Sherrie Ann Jackson, age 66, died Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Durham Rehab and Health in Durham. Born June 21, 1955 in Cheyenne, WY she was a daughter of Faye Dawson Jackson Downs of Smithfield and the late J. L. Jackson, Jr. In addition to her father, Sherrie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bill Downs; twin sister, Terry Kay Jackson; maternal grandparents, Joe and Ida Dawson; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Elizabeth Jackson. Sherrie was a member of First Baptist Church in Smithfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 in First Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Colbert and Ms. Faye Downs officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church just prior to the service.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her brother, Stanley Jay Jackson and wife Shannon of Fuquay Varina; nephew, Brandon Jackson and wife Christina of Wilmington; stepsiblings, Debbie Ellis and husband R.J. of Raleigh, Ann Crisp and husband Bill of Hendersonville and David Downs and wife Jenny of Kentucky; Goddaughter, Jennifer Belcher and husband Ron of Papua New Guinea and their daughter, Amanda Mincolla; best friend, Terry Carroll and wonderful friend and hospice volunteer, Stacey.
