Shelby Jean Pearce, 85, of Selma, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2026, at Rex Hospital in Holly Springs. Born October 31, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Inez Pearce.

Shelby was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She loved being outdoors, spending time working in her yard, and relaxing at her beloved beach house. Shelby had a passion for shag dancing and shared that love with others by teaching shag lessons for several years. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandbabies, who brought endless happiness to her life.

Shelby is survived by her son, Richard Hertzel; daughter, Kelly Jackson; brother, James "Pete" Pearce; grandchildren, Richard, Cody, and Jacobi; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Per Shelby's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services at this time.
