Pine Level- Sandra Ray Woodard Lester, age 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in her home of Pine Level. Born, on February 10, 1962, in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of Carolyn Ray Woodard and L.T. "Tom" Woodard. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Anthony "Tony" Lester and her father L.T. "Tom" Woodard. Sandra was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Smithfield for many years. She graduated from Menchville High School, class of 1980. Afterward, she worked at the Newport News Shipyard for several years as a clerk. On June 6, 1981, she married her loving husband "Tony" Lester. Sandra was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithfield with a meal to follow. Visitation will be held one hour before the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church.

In addition to her mother, Carolyn Ray Woodard of Newport News, VA, she is survived by her sons; Troy Lester of Pine Level, James "Jimmy" Lester of Newport News, VA, brother, Ivan Woodard & wife, Melissa of San Antonio, TX, nephews; Shaun T. Woodard, Laik T. Woodard as well as numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.

Flowers are acceptable and may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Smithfield, or memorial contributions may be sent to the Pine Level Volunteer Fire Department at 110 W Main St. Selma, NC 27576.
