Smithfield – Ruby Florence Strickland Wyatt, age 85, died Thursday evening, February 16, 2017 in Smithfield Manor. Born February 7, 1932 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Willie and Edith Blackmon Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Chester Wyatt; brothers, Roby Strickland, Rother Strickland, Ralph Strickland, Robert Strickland, and Raymond Strickland; sisters, Luna Mae Daughtry and Annie Ruth Holly; and one child born into the presence of the Lord.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Mr. William Lee and Rev. Wayne White officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday just prior to the service.

Surviving are her sons, Willie "Gene" Wyatt of Smithfield and Kenneth Wayne Wyatt of Plant City, FL; daughter, Sue Lee and husband Martin of Suffolk, VA; sister, Betty Strickland Creel of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
