Four Oaks – Roy Blane Pope, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday October 5, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Arlington County Virginia to the late Dennis Aaron Pope and Rebecca Rae Upchurch Pope. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Connie Coker.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday October 8, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation on Sunday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Reverend David Sutphin officiating.

Mr. Pope is survived by wife, Mary Jo Wynn Pope of Four Oaks; brother, Russell Pope, and wife Sandy of Coats; sister, Denise Stearley, and husband Mark of Cary; nieces, Taylor Stearley, Lauren Stearley, Emily Pope, Amber Coker; nephew, Aaron Pope; great niece, Ta'Mya Coker; sister-in-law, Susan Wynn; brother-in-law, Michael Wynn, and wife Sharon.
