Rose Sharon Elkins Hitch, age 75 passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born in Huntington, West Virginia on July 5, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Bill Lechey and Mary Ann Gravely.

Rose was a strong willed, honest, and faithful woman and was a fighter for what she believed in. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and trips to the beach. Rose loved her angels and her cardinals.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Lorelei Kelley.

There will be no formal services.

Rose is survived by her husband, Harlan Ray Hitch of Smithfield, NC; daughter, Sally Browning of Princeton, NC; son, Michael Silva of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Autumn Browning, Joshua Browning Jr., Bentley Ray Rayburn, and Remington Lee East.
