In Loving Memory of Ronald Allen Reuter
68 years of Life, Love, Service and Memories
Ronald Allen Reuter, known by Allen, passed away 10/20/2026 at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of service, friendship, family and memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Born in New Castle, Indiana Allen began his journey of service at 18 years old when he joined the United States Navy. Over the course of his 26 years of active duty service, he traveled all over the world, dedicating much of his life to serving his country. But his commitment to the Navy did not end when his active duty career came to a close. Allen continued working with the Navy for another 16 years managing operations at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Raleigh, NC. Altogether he devoted 42 years of his life to serving his country and supporting the next generation of service members.
While Allen was proud of his years of service there was much more to his story than his military career. He was a man who enjoyed life, appreciated good company, and had his own special way of making memories.
In his younger years Allen played basketball, football and was an amazing left-handed pitcher in high school. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with his friends at the Tavern. He inherited his father's gift of telling good story ( which may or may not have been true). He loved to teach line dancing and two-stepping was his favorite thing.
Then there were that little things that made Allen unmistakably himself. His love for black coffee, peanut butter fudge, and angel food cake.
Who could forget the COB or Snoop Doggy Pa? These memories become family treasures that bring a smile to your face.
Above all, Allen leaves behind a family who will forever carry a piece of him with them. He is preceded in death by father and mother, Ronald Reuter and Pat Reuter; wife, Sherry Reuter; brother, Tim Reuter, and grandson, William Hatfield. Allen is survived by his five daughters, Jodi Westover (Jamie), Brandy Milstead (Danny), Dusti Reuter, Krysti Seals (Brandon) and Laci Edwards (Dale); one son, Stuart Hatfield; sister, Monica Herr (Paul); aunts, Norma Jean Reuter and Tammy Cline (Rick); uncle, Robert Billings; and eight grandchildren, Colin Westover, Spencer Shields, Hayden Edwards, Stephenie Brock, Clifton Seals, Liam Edwards, Elijah Edwards, and Piper Seals.
A memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, at Parrish Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stop Soldier Suicide at https://stopsoldiersuicide.org/.
Though his absence will be deeply felt his memory will continue to live on in the laughter shared among family , the stories told among friends and the countless moments that remind everyone of the man he was.
Fair Winds and following seas, Allen.
